Field Day Wrap up
Field Day 2008 brought to you by:
And many thanks to the folks at American
Aviation who provided our Field Day location this year!
Thanks for your Help!
Well folks, another Field Day
is in the history books!! This year can be chalked up as a huge success. We
solved our biggest nemesis, station interaction, by implementing our "secret
weapon" and also increasing our antenna separation. To find out more about our
"secret weapon" stop by the next monthly club meeting July 15th at 7:00pm at the
Oak Hill hospital. The points tally is in the works, and all indications show
more points this year!!
We had 51 people signed into the
station log, 21 members and 30 guests. Some of our distinguished guests were
Ginny Brown-Waite, our Florida representative in the U.S. House of
Representatives, Shirley Anderson of our local government, Sheriff
Rich Nugent and his wife, Wendy, and Jim Angello of the Civil Air Patrol.
If I overlooked any others, I apologize.
We had food galore all weekend long.
Many thanx to all of whom brought food for the masses, and a special thanx for
the effort of those who contacted our local establishments for donations. The
list of the donors are published here in the website. Thanx
again!!!
Propagation was better this year. 15
metres opened during the early part of Saturday and lasted until dusk. 20 and 40
metres took us through the rest of the night, and on into Sunday!!
Hopefully next year we will have more operators to enjoy the increasing
propagation, as the new cycle takes off!!! See ya then
